Repeat at the Verizon Hertiage

This weekend was a surprising site at Hilton Head Island with the gallery chanting “BOOOO, BOOOO” on the 18th fairway. It wasn’t shouting in any ill-will, but it was rooting for defending champ Boo Weekley. Weekley had won the tournament last year and the repeat was just icing on the cake. Boo finished with a three-stroke lead over Anthony Kim and Aaron Baddeley both tied for second.

The Masters Championship

Who would have guessed that Trevor Immelman would have defied all odds and taken the Master’s this year with a three-stroke lead over Tiger Woods, who was heavily favored to take the Grand Slam of golf this year.  Immelman earned his first berth in the season-ending showcase of major champions at the ripe age of 28 over seven-time PGA Grand Slam of Golf champion Tiger Woods at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

Amidst the upset, Tiger retains his number one ranking in the FedEx Cup standings with Phil Mickelson (ASU Alum, Whoo Hooo) and Vijay Singh sitting in the second and third spot.

The next big tournament is this weekend at the Verizon Heritage in Hilton Head Islands, S.C.  Tournament play begins on Thursday the 17th and will end on Sunday the 20.
